Institute of Ceramic Technology

 The Institute of Ceramic technology functioning at Vridhachalam to  impart training in Ceramic Technology from 1964 onwards.  The duration of the course is three years six months including six months in plant training.  At present 30 students are admitted every year.  Directorate of Technical Education conducts examinations and awards the Diploma Certificates. 

Glass Units

Government Production Centre for Scientific Glass apparatus, Coimbatore

This Unit manufactures Scientific Glass Apparatus to cater to the needs of the Testing Laboratories under the control of Agriculture Department and other Institution like Forensic Laboratory and other Government Departments.  Due to the change in purchase policy by Agriculture Department, this Unit is not able to get adequate orders.

 Government Scientific Glass Training Centre, Guindy

 This Unit imparts practical training to students in the manufacture of Scientific Glass Apparatus  (2 years certificate course) 25 students are trained every year and the trainees are paid a monthly stipend of Rs.120/- 54th batches of students have completed their training so far.

 Government Technical Training Centre, Guindy

 This institute offers 3 years Diploma course in Mechanical Engineering in specialized branches of Tool & Die Engineering and Refrigeration and Air Conditioning with an annual intake of 30 students and 40 students respectively.  Further, a Post Diploma (Advanced Course) in Die & Tool Design of one year duration is also offered with an annual intake of 10 students.

 Institute of Tool Engineering, Dindigul 

This institute offers a three years Diploma Course in Mechanical Engineering in specialized branches of Tool & Die Engineering with an annual intake of 30 students.
